In this document you will find the aims and objectives of
the Parish Council together with the Parish Councillor who
will take primary responsibility for managing the objective.
Please feel free to contact the nominated person or any councillor
on issues that you feel are relevant.
AIM
To maintain the quality of rural life in the
village for the benefit of all residents, whilst improving
amenities whenever appropriate and within budget.
OBJECTIVES
1. Conduct affairs according to the recommended
codes of practice and ruling legislation. Ensure accounts
are appropriately managed and audited in a timely manner.

2. Maintain the quality of the roadways and
verges with particular attention to grass verges and hedges.
Lobby when appropriate Bucks County Council to improve the
roadways and pavements paying particular attention to road
safety. Ensure working street lighting.

3. Vigorously pursue any relevant and effective
traffic calming measures. Actively take part in the countywide
process of reducing vehicle speeds within and around Oving.

4. Input to all relevant planning and development
proposals at the local, regional and government level as much
as they impact on the quality of life and rural nature of
Oving.

5. Liase in a positive manner with our councillors
for AVDC and Bucks County Council to ensure smooth cooperation
between the local councils and ourselves.

6. Deal with acts of vandalism in a timely and
whenever possible immediate manner to deter further acts.
Operate a zero tolerance attitude and whenever possible report
offenders to the police for action and seek to recover costs
from the perpetrator.

7. Manage the upkeep and improvement to the
recreation ground (REC) in an appropriate and sensitive way
to ensure this important facility continues to appeal to all
in the village as a key amenity for their use.

specifically:
a. Renovate to an acceptable standard as a meeting
room the historic Reading Room.
b. Evaluate the opportunity to either renovate or replace
the pavilion with facilities more appropriately matched to
the demands of those using the recreation ground.
c. Consider the viability of renovating or alternative future
for the large white store behind the pavilion.
d. Continue with the upkeep of the children's area including
basketball court.
e. Improve the surrounding verges of the car park to make
as attractive as the rest of the REC.
8. Manage a positive relationship with clubs
and societies using the REC particularly the tennis and football
clubs through a well managed REC ground committee.

9. Communicate effectively with all residents
through the parish magazine and Oving web site.

10. Continue to provide adequate numbers of
dog bins. Promote the use of dog bins and when necessary use
local government powers to act against persistent dog fouling
owners.

11. Manage effective risk assessment for all
areas falling under the accountability of Oving Parish Council.
